Carmen de Andacollo is an open-pit copper mining operation located in central Chile, adjacent to the town of Andacollo, approximately 55 kilometers southeast of La Serena and 350 kilometers north of Santiago. The mine is located near the southern limit of the Atacama Desert, 1,000 meters above sea level. Teck has a 90% stake in the company and is associated with the National Mining Company (ENAMI), owned by the State of Chile, which owns the remaining 10%. Carmen de Andacollo produces copper in concentrate of the hypogenic portion of the deposit. The production of cathodes of the superenhanced portion of the reservoir is close to completion.
