Comder Contraparte Central S.A. (Chile)

ComDer Contraparte Central S.A. is a company located in Las Condes, Chile. It was incorporated as a Central Counterparty Entity (CCE) in accordance with Title II of Law 20.345. The company's main objective is to manage the clearing and settlement systems for Financial Instruments as a Central Counterparty. It also carries out other complementary activities authorized by the law or the Financial Market Commission (CMF). ComDer aims to contribute to the efficient operation of the market and the mitigation of counterparty risks in over-the-counter derivative transactions. It achieves this by implementing robust risk mitigation mechanisms and standardizing and facilitating financial instrument transactions. The project to create ComDer is based on several foundations. Firstly, it seeks to increase the competitiveness of the national financial system by providing services in line with global trends and the latest international standards and practices. Secondly, it supports relevant actors in the OTC derivatives market in automating their post-trading processes, reporting, and reconciliation. Lastly, it aims to improve the quality of information and reduce risks associated with derivative transactions. ComDer also focuses on managing the risks of this activity, reinforcing security, and ensuring efficient operations in OTC derivative transactions. The company has sufficient capacity systems to monitor and identify potential sources of systemic risk.
