Club Hipico de Concepcion S.A. (Chile)

Club Hipico de Concepcion S.A. is a company located in Talca, Chile. It was incorporated at the end of 1918 and became a joint-stock company on December 31st of that year. The company was founded by horse racing enthusiasts in the Bío-Bío region. The beginnings of horse racing in Concepcion can be traced back to a sector called La Pampa, now known as Barrio Norte. A track was built where horse owners would gather to race their horses, experiencing both victories and defeats. As the popularity of the sport grew, advancements and rules were introduced, including the importation of select thoroughbred horses. This led to the need for additional land and the construction of a building that included stands for shareholders and the board of directors, as well as facilities for horse owners, casinos, ticket offices, and other amenities for users. The new location for the regional racetrack, named Mediocamino, was in the Intercomuna Concepcion-Talcahuano. Today, the races at Mediocamino can be watched live at over a hundred Teletrak points of sale throughout Chile, from Arica to Punta Arenas. Over the years, the company has experienced growth and has been committed to its development, as well as maintaining a strong connection with its people and regional and local authorities. In November 1999, the company signed a new betting association contract with Club Hipico de Santiago and Hipodromo Chile, aiming to improve the racetrack, equipment, infrastructure, and facilities.
