The company was founded on April 5, 2011 under the name Coagra Soluciones Financieras S.A. as a subsidiary of Coagra S.A. It was created to provide financial solutions for the agro-industrial sector through the granting of direct credit, contract financing, factoring and leasing operations. In 2015 Coagra Soluciones Financieras S.A. changed its name to Banagro S.A. This year Banagro S.A. acquired Agroaval S.A.G.R. In 2016 Banagro S.A. began the sale process of Agroaval S.A.G.R. and Agroaval I Guarantee Fund to Multiaval S.A.G.R. With this sale, Banagro S.A. was able to focus its business on the direct placement of short and long term financing to the Chilean agroindustry and agriculture.
