Atacama Minerals Chile SCM is a subsidiary of Vancouver-based mining company Atacama Minerals Corp. The company owns 100% of the Aguas Blancas iodine, sulfates, and nitrates deposit located in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. Aguas Blancas began iodine production in 2001 and was operated through its partners ACF Minera S.A. until 2005 when Atacama Minerals Corp. acquired the 50% stake owned by ACF, becoming the sole owner and operator of the company. Atacama Minerals Chile SCM is currently expanding its iodine production and conducting studies for nitrate exploration.
