Water utility company which took over operations from state-owned Esmag in September, 2004. On that date, Esmag transferred operating rights for 30 years to Magallanes after Chiles Solari family - through the Aguas Nuevas consortium - presented the winning bid in June. Esmag was the countrys last state-operated utility to transfer operating rights to the private sector.
The investments made in the region of Magallanes in 2010, focused on replacing pipes sewage systems and drinking water, and in the updated metering park, mainly in the city of Punta Arenas, reversing most of MM $ 400 for this item.
Another major project completed in 2010 was the expansion of the capacity of the lifting system The Chones-Perez de Arce, whose implementation will allow better operation systems sewage collection of Punta Arenas.
For the next few years will provide coverage expansion projects in the collection industry and increased investment in replacement of sewer networks and water distribution.
