The Bank was founded in the decade of 1940, in the city of Curvelo, in the north/center of the state of Minas Gerais. Founded by local business men, was acquired in 1950, under the name of Banco Mercantil de Minas Gerais, by Mr. Oswaldo de Araujo and Vicente de Araujo. Today, about 200 service points are strategically distributed by the major centers of Brazil, mostly in the Southeast, especially in Minas Gerais.
