Drogaria São Paulo S.A. is a company located in São Paulo, Brazil. It was founded in 1943 by Mr. Carvalho, who opened the first store in the old center of São Paulo on Rua José Bonifácio. Initially, the company operated as a wholesale drugstore and retail pharmacy, offering prescription manipulation services. Recognizing the demand for retail purchases, Mr. Carvalho decided to incorporate a retail counter in his drugstore, offering both wholesale and retail options. This innovative idea proved successful, leading to the opening of two additional branches in the same year, one in Santos and another in the Sé region of São Paulo. The company experienced significant growth and expansion, opening its largest branch in Liberdade in 1949, spanning 1000 square meters. In 1971, the management of Drogaria São Paulo was passed on to Mr. Carvalho's son, who continued the company's pioneering spirit. Throughout the years, the company implemented innovative concepts such as self-service stores, overnight service, and the introduction of a discount card for retirees. In the 1980s, Drogaria São Paulo initiated the Ambulance Donation Campaign, involving customer participation in selecting the recipient institutions. This campaign became one of the most traditional actions of the company. In addition to its growth in the number of stores, Drogaria São Paulo has also been actively involved in social initiatives, including the traditional Clothing Drive and Blood Donation Campaign, which are now part of the company's calendar. With a history of 77 years, Drogaria São Paulo currently operates over 830 stores in five states, serving millions of customers each month. In 2020, the brand was recognized as the best pharmacy in São Paulo for the sixth consecutive year, according to a survey conducted by the Datafolha Institute.
