Cooperativa de Distribuição de Energia Teutônia (Certel Energia) is a cooperative located in Teutônia. It was founded on February 19, 1956, and is the largest and oldest electricity cooperative in the country. In compliance with the legislation of the Conceding Authority, Certel split into two new cooperatives on May 1, 2009. Certel Energia focuses on the distribution of electrical energy, while the other cooperative, Cooperativa Regional de Desenvolvimento Teutônia (Certel), encompasses other businesses such as Certel Stores, Energy Generation, Certel Cement Artifacts, and controlled companies.
