In 1996, CRT assumed the administration of Teresópolis-Rio road. Then opened the stage of modern highway. Investing about $ 450 million over the last 25 years provided for the grant, the CRT installed cutting edge technology to ensure more safety and comfort to its users, taking full responsibility for the rehabilitation, improvement, conservation and maintenance of 142.5 miles of track.
