Companhia Mineira de Açúcar e Álcool Participações (CMAA) is a major player in the ethanol, VHP sugar, and bioelectricity industry in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The company was established in 2006 by Grupo JF Citrus, with a focus on bringing efficiency in management and production to the sugarcane sector. In 2010, CMAA started operating its first plant, and in 2013, Indoagri (part of the Salim Group - Indofood), a multinational company based in Jakarta, Indonesia, acquired a 50% stake in the company. CMAA currently operates three plants in the Triângulo Mineiro region, known for its suitable land for cultivation and excellent transportation logistics. The Vale do Tijuco, Vale do Pontal, and Canápolis plants have mechanized planting and harvesting processes, utilizing state-of-the-art machinery and technology to increase productivity. In December 2017, the partners of CMAA, represented by Grupo JF Citrus and IndoAgri, jointly acquired the Canápolis plant, formerly known as Usina Triálcool, located in Canápolis, Minas Gerais. The plant began its industrial operation in the 2020/2021 harvest season.
