In November 1970, Coamo Agroindustrial Cooperativa - Coamo - was founded to develop the regional agriculture in Parana. Today, Coamo and its cooperated members are present in over 53 cities in the states of Parana, Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso do Sul. The company receives around 3.3% of all grains and fibers national production and 14% of the Paranas. In Brazil, calls itself one of the largest agricultural cooperatives. The company has an industrial complex, which turns over 1.7 million tons of products per year. This complex leaving the Coamo products, along with agricultural commodities are traded in domestic and foreign markets. The company also produces food for retail (margarines, soybean oil, coffee, wheat flour) and ingredients for the industrial line (fats, margarine and flour, bran beyond commodities and degummed soybean oil)
