Zlatna Panega Cement plant, which was established in 1966, is part of Greece's Titan Cement group. Zlatna Panega Cement AD is engaged in the manufacture of cement and ready-mixed concrete.
In July 1997, Germany's Heidelberger Zement AG bought 51% of the Zlatna Panega plant for USD 26 million. Heidelberger paid USD 19 million in cash and USD 7.0 million in domestic bad debt loan bonds. The new owner, which subsequently acquired full control of the plant, pledged to invest a total of USD 25 million in Zlatna Panega. In December 2003, Heidelberg Group signed a deal to sell 99.9% of Zlatna Panega Cement to Greece's Titan Cement for EUR 56.8 million.
