Unilever Bugaria EOOD was established in 1999 as a fully-owned subsidiary of Anglo-Dutch packaged consumer goods maker Unilever. The Sofia-based unit is engaged in the distribution of Unilever products - personal care, food and home care goods. In February 2003, Unilever bought the margarine production unit of local cooking oil and margarine producer Kaliakra, pledging EUR 10 million investments in the unit over a five-year period. The company relocated the margarine production to Romania in 2007.
