Synergon Holding AD (Bulgaria)

Synergon Holding AD is a company located in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was incorporated on September 25, 1996, under the name "Petro Fund" as a national privatization fund. At that time, it had over 250,000 shareholders and a capital exceeding 5.55 million BGN, making it a leader in this indicator. During three centralized auctions, the fund acquired shares in 65 companies, with the largest share being in the trade sector at 31.61%, followed by the chemical industry at 24.12% and tourism at 15.14%. From 1998 to 1999, the holding company conducted purchases and sales of shares primarily on the Bulgarian stock market. It formed a group of subsidiary companies in which the holding company had management functions and determined their development strategy. In late June 1998, the holding company became the first of the former privatization funds to be listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange. On March 5, 2002, the general meeting of shareholders adopted the name "Synergon Holding". Today, Synergon Holding AD is a company with over 150,000 shareholders and a share capital of 18,358,849 BGN, making it one of the leading holding structures in the country. The shares of Synergon Holding AD are traded on the "A" segment of the official stock market and, since March 1, 2012, on the "Standard" segment following changes in the Bulgarian Stock Exchange regulations. Synergon Holding is a majority owner in more than 20 companies and holds minority stakes in other companies. Its investment portfolio covers four sectors, with a focus on trade, tourism, and the chemical industry. The main activities of the company include acquiring, managing, evaluating, and selling stakes in Bulgarian and foreign companies; acquiring, managing, and selling bonds; acquiring, evaluating, and selling patents; licensing patents of companies in which the holding company participates; financing companies in which the holding company participates; transportation and freight forwarding activities; exhibition and marketing activities; repair and service activities; tourism and tourist services, hotel management, and restaurant services; and other non-prohibited commercial activities according to the law.
