ProCredit Bank Bulgaria offers a full scope of banking services to individual and corporate clients. In the area of business clients, the bank focuses primarily on very small, small and medium-sized enterprises.
ProCredit Bank Bulgaria was established in June 2001 by five international investors - EBRD, IFC, ProCredit Holding AG, DEG and Commerzbank - aiming to lend to small and medium-size companies in Bulgaria.
German investment fund ProCredit Holding, formerly Internationale Micro Investitionen (IMI), controlled 60% in ProCredit Bank Bulgaria as of end-2007. The other shareholders were the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and German Commerzbank, each holding a stake of around 20%.
In April 2008, EBRD sold its 19.71% stake in the bank to ProCredit Holding.
The lender operates more than 50 units throughout the country.
