"Pristanishte Burgas EAD is a public transport port of national importance located in Burgas. It handles bulk and general cargo and serves passenger and cruise ships. The state operator, Pristanishte Burgas EAD, applies an individual approach to its clients and provides optimal solutions to problems, ensuring excellent service for goods through the implemented management system. Our goal is to meet the increasing demands of our partners, maintain long-term business contacts, and have fruitful cooperation with them. Pristanishte Burgas was founded with a decision for its construction, adopted by Decree No. 7 on December 20, 1894, by Prince Ferdinand I. It was ceremoniously opened in his presence on May 18, 1903, and opened for commercial shipping. Shortly before that, in 1899, the white Burgas lighthouse was lit - the first Bulgarian port lighthouse. At its opening, the port represented a basin with an area of 60 hectares, with three quay walls with a total front of 590 meters and a depth of the water area of 24 feet. In 1941, the first two 3-ton electric cranes, produced by "Skoda," were delivered. Until then, all the work had been manual - the goods were carried on the back, on so-called samari. Dockers carried the goods on inclined skids from the quay to the ship. On September 5, 1974, the port for bulk cargo was officially opened. Since 1963, three miles south of the main port, in the area of Rosenets Park, the terminal for oil and petroleum products has been operating. In 1980, the West Port, specialized in handling large-tonnage ships carrying black metals, was put into operation." Read more at: https://port-burgas.bg/istoriya
