Olimex OOD is a company located in Vidin, Bulgaria. It was incorporated in 1995 as a small family business. The company started its journey in 1992 when Adrian Alexandrov and his father bought their first sunflower oil extraction machine for $10,000. They rented a 50 sqm space in Vidin and began their work. Over the years, Olimex OOD has grown and developed into a successful business. A few years later, Adrian Alexandrov and his father expanded their operations by purchasing another production line and setting it up in the town of Kula. They gained the trust of local farmers by providing them with unrefined oil and husks in exchange for sunflower seeds. After three years of successful partnerships, the owners of the company were confident in the prospects of the oil production business. In 1995, they established Olimex OOD and acquired 33 hectares of land in the village of Pokrayna, near Vidin. The company's production base now includes facilities for oil extraction, refining, bottling, granulation, extraction, warehouses, silos, and a new plant for producing bleached sunflower seeds. Currently, Olimex OOD has a production and storage area of over 51 hectares. These investments have played a crucial role in transforming the oil extraction factory into one of the most modern in Bulgaria. Today, Olimex OOD's products are preferred and competitive both in Bulgaria and in foreign markets, with 90% of its production being exported. The company is led by Adrian Alexandrov and Miglena Alexandrova. Since its establishment in 1992, the company's workforce has grown from 9 employees to over 100, making it one of the important employers in the region. The production facilities operate continuously in a four-shift mode for eleven months of the year, with planned maintenance and repairs during the remaining time. The company's annual investment in maintenance and upkeep is of great importance to ensure a high-quality and trouble-free production process and a safe working environment for all employees. The company's office is located in an administrative building within the production base in Pokrayna. The close proximity between administration and production ensures good coordination of processes and smooth communication at all levels within the company.
