One of Bulgaria's leading wall and floor tile producers Han Asparuh was launched in 1970. The company operates two factories with an annual production capacity of 28 million square meters, located in the towns of Shumen and Isperih. The product range of the bathroom and sanitary equipment maker features a wide range of wall tiles, floor tiles and porcelain tiles.
Han Asparuh was sold under the country's voucher privatization programme in the 1990s. In June 2005, Han Asparuh acquired, via a fully-owned subsidiary, a 99.52% stake in local gypsum maker Gips for BGN 2.75 million. In 2004 Han Asparuh acquired Shumen-based wall tiles maker Han Omurtag.
