Non-ferrous metal smelter KCM is located on a 900,000 m2 site between Plovdiv and Asenovgrad. The company was established in November 1991 with a 100% state participation. In July 2000 a contract was signed between the Privatisation Agency and KCM 2000 for a privatisation sale of 80% stake in KCM AD for $ USD 14,635 millions.
KCM is the largest producer of lead and zinc in Bulgaria and the undisputed leader in the production of non-ferrous and precious metals in Southeastern Europe and the Black Sea region. The annual production capacity of lead is 65,000 tons and 80,000 tons of zinc. The company is part of the holding structure of KCM 2000 AD. It groups together companies working in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, in mining, manufacturing, local and foreign trade, marketing and consultancy.
