Bulgarian Railway Company EAD (BRC EAD) is the first private Bulgarian railway company licensed for freight transportation. The company was established in 2004 with private shareholder capital and holds national license number 201 issued by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Currently, BRC EAD is solely owned by the Romanian private railway operator Grup Feroviar Roman SA (GFR). The company is part of GRAMPET GROUP, the largest private railway holding in Southeastern Europe. GRAMPET GROUP consists of 18 companies grouped in areas of activity, including railway transport operators, cargo, logistics, construction, maintenance and repair of rolling stock, and IT services. BRC EAD is currently a member of the International Union of Railways (UIC), the International Rail Transport Committee (CIT), Forum Train Europe (FTE), and participates in the General Contract of Use for Wagons (GCU). The company's main goals are to pursue leadership in railway services in the country, develop new logistic possibilities connecting all types of transportation, and build comprehensive logistic chains.
