Bottling Company-Gorna Bania OOD, set up in 1994 as Iken-Real, is one of the largest mineral water bottling companies in Bulgaria. The firm operates a concession on the Gorna Banya mineral springs located in the outskirts of the capital Sofia. In 2001, Gorna Banya Bottling Co. expanded its production in the carbonated soft drinks and fruit juices sectors.
In the end of October 2009 two Armenian businessmen - Gagik Tsarukyan and Djavahir Tsarukyan acqured 100% of Gorna Bania's shares at the price of EUR 25 million. EUR 20 million from the amount goes for debt repayment. Gagik Tsarukyan is owner of the Armenian holding company Multi Group, which combines 30 subsidiaries in different economic branches. The acqusition of Gorna Bania is his first local investment.
