Dulamia Cotton Spinning Mills Ltd. is a spinning mill located in Dagonbhuiyan, Feni, Bangladesh. The company was incorporated on February 28, 1987. The name "DULAMIA" was chosen to honor the late grandfather of Mr. Abdul Awal Mintoo, CEO of the Multimode Group. Dulamia operates with approximately 27,000 spindles and has a production capacity of about 7,500,000 pounds (lbs) of 100% cotton yarn per year. While the company produces solely for the domestic market, its raw materials are sourced from Sudan, Tanzania, USA, Cameroon, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, and Pakistan. Dulamia is known for being pioneers in employing women, with 682 out of about 900 workers, staff, and officers being women. Women have been working at Dulamia since its inception and became the majority of the working staff by 1995. Additionally, Dulamia provides dress and lunch to its workers and staff, which was an unprecedented act in the industry in Bangladesh at the time. The establishment of the factory in Dagonbhuiyan aimed to improve the socio-economic conditions of the population in the area. At the time, Dagonbhuiyan was not an industrial or commercial hub. However, today it has become the commercial center of Feni, with land prices being among the highest in Bangladesh.
