Bosnian sector company Plin Sarajevo, established in 1953, was once the market leader in the industrial gases sector in Bosnia's Muslim-Croat federation.
In September 2004, the federation government sold a 55.07% stake in Plin Sarajevo to Hungarian industrial gases supplier Messer Hungarogaz Kft, a subsidiary of German Messer Group.
Messer Hungarogaz paid KM 3.03 million and pledged to invest KM 850,000 over three years.
The investment by Messer Griesheim will help pay for repairs to Plin Sarajevo gas plant, which was heavily damaged and looted during the 1992-95 war in Bosnia.
The company supplies oxygen, CO2, propane-butane and acetylene from three production and distribution locations.
