Bosnian trading company MIMS Ltd., which was established in 1989, is based in the town of Semizovac, 15 kilometres north of Sarajevo.Its main line of business is retail and wholesale trade as well as service rendering.The company halted operations during the 1992-95 civil war in the country.MIMS, which resumed its activities in 1996, actively participated in the sell-off process in Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat Federation.
In 2000, MIMS purchased a 67.24% stake in local glass manufacturer Dijamant for KM 5.1 million and a 56.08% state-owned stake in Bosnian plastic materials producer Unioninvestplastika for KM 4.55 million.In 2002, MIMS acquired 67% in one of the biggest retailers in the federation - Merkur for KM 2.45 million and the next year purchased a 67% state-owned stake in Mostar-based clothing company Mostarka (former Zlatka Vucovic) for KM 150,000.In 2004, the Semizovac-based company purchased control of the Sprind bakery and in the trading and distribution company D.C. Konjic on the local stock exchange.Total sales of the MIMS group totalled KM 98 million in 2004, up from KM 62 million in 2003.
MIMS group fixed assets amounted to KM 42 million in 2004, up from the KM 30 million in 2003.
