Hrvatska Posta d.o.o. Mostar (Croatian Post) was established as an independent company in January 2003 after the split of the former post and telecommunications monopoly Hrvatska Posta i Telekomunikacije (HPT) into two entities.
Founded in 1992, HPT Mostar was operating in the Muslim-Croat Federation, which makes up half of post-war Bosnia along with the Serb Republic.
Hrvatska Posta Mostar is one of the three postal operators in post-war Bosnia, along with BH Posta Sarajevo and the state-owned postal monopoly Srpske Poste, which operates in the Serb republic.
The state holds a 62% stake in Hrvatska Posta Mostar and a 31% stake is controlled by Croatia's Hrvatske Telekomunikacije (HT), majority-owned by Deutsche Telekom.
The company has some 770 employees and distribution network of 126 postal offices.
It posted a net profit of KM 171,750 in 2003.
