Banco Credicoop Cooperativo Limitado is the largest cooperative bank in Argentina. It was formed by the merger of 44 credit banks in Buenos Aires, Greater Buenos Aires region and la Plata. In 1985 and 1995 it acquired the assets, liabilities and branches of four other cooperative banks, considerably increasing its business volume and network of branches. In 1995 it bought the branches of Banco Local Coop. In March of 1996 it acquired Banco Coopesur Coop. Ldo. with its business offices. Through its network of 225 branches the bank offers traditional commercial banking services, specializing in financing of small and medium-sized companies. The bank participates in the pension fund administration market through its indirect shareholding in Previsol AFJP.
