Austral Lineas Aereas Cielos del Sur S.A. (Argentina)

Austral Lineas Aereas belongs to the company Aerolíneas Argentinas. It is a company that provides passenger and cargo air transport services. AUSTRAL Compania Argentina de Transportes Aereos Comercial e Industrial (this was its original name), created in 1957, began its operations servicing the route from Aeroparque to the Argentine South in January 1958 with Curtiss C-46, as well as non-scheduled cargo flights to Miami (USA). In June of 1961 a process for the merger with ALA (Aerotransportes Litoral Argentino) was initiated, creating Ala y Austral S.A., giving a start to joint operations between the two companies. In 1971 a complete merger of both companies was finalized, forming AUSTRAL LINEAS AEREAS S.A. Currently, Austral Lineas Aereas, a member of the Aerolíneas Argentinas group, has a fleet of 26 Embraer E-190s with on-demand on-board entertainment system, to assist the cabotage and regional flights that the company has with a monoflota (all airplanes of the same type) that allows to generate important operational savings, as for example in maintenance.
